Things that don't exist

There are many things in this world that don't exist and yet are coined a term for it.. simply because it will make our much easier.. let me illustrate..

take height for example. there are two words related to it which is 'tall' and 'short'. well, short isn't really a measurable quantity. you can measure how tall a person is, but not how short a person is.. you get what i mean?

another very good example is darkness.. darkness isn't really darkness, rather the absence of light. cold isn't really cold, rather the absence of heat. No one can measure how dark a room is, or how cold an object, but they can measure how bright a room is or how hot something is...

things that are in a continuum, generally between the 2 extremes, only one thing exists..

stupid and intelligent... stupid doesn't exist, rather the lack of intelligence
good and evil.. evil doesn't exist, rather the absence of goodness
love and hatred..

you get what i mean? yes.. some people might say it's euphamism.. (correctly spelt ar?) but yea.. it doesn't exist

only one thing exist in the continuum, and when it is lower than the average, another term is coined..

talking about average, i did post up one statistic joke involving Mr. Liew right??

Ms. Chia has her own 'average' moments it seems (lol.. i tell you.. Ms. Chia have some of the weirdest PMs ever).. there was once she put up this as her PM

Eventful day

28th March 2008

This is going to be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong blog.. so bear with me ya.. :p

Today was the day to pass up our lab report for 104. so i went to college and print there, cause home printer was running out of ink.. so dad fetched me there, and i went to check my lab report for 1 last time before printing it out..

saw john, xinyu, ah lut and jungle in the computer room. so after printing, i went to Block E and submitted my assignment.. oh oh.. during submission, i saw cha loo... she was filling up the assignment folder, and i thought to myself, i thought Phun said no need assignment folder..

but then she was filling it up right? so i also took 1 and i wanted to take out my pencil box. but then Izan tapped on her and said "no need assignment folder." i was like =.=; good thing haven't fill in the paper.. didn't waste paper.. hehehe

so after handing up my assignment, i was at a lost of what to do.. at first i told my dad that i won't be home for lunch, eating lunch with friends.. but seems like i won't be eating with friends afterall.. so i sms-ed a few people, and decided to go home makan..

while on the bus, ah bit called me and said she is in the train.. and that time i was already on the bus.. so how? i reached bangsar station and try to find ah bit there.. a bit wishful thinking i know.... but hey... she was there.. hahaha..

so i asked her how? she was the one who said going to makan lunch with friends, but now not eating already.. i persuaded her to skip Malaysian Studies (i know, i know.. bad me right??) and watch movie with me instead.. so she agreed at last la.. yeah..

so i need to take the bus again to HELP. went 1 round with the bus.. hahaha.. oh oh.. at bangsar station, one aunty came and asked us... how to go to HELP. so we said we are going there and ask her to follow us lo.. they were going there to ask for information regarding actuary science.

so on the bus, ah bit went down first at Block A, and while i was free, i teman-ed them (the whole family) to main block. she asked me what am i studying.. i told her psychology.. and she said "ya ya.. psychology is famous in HELP.. do you know Ying Zhao?"

i was like..... "ying zhao? the one who lives in klang??" and she replied "ya ya.. teh ying zhao" hahaha.. the world is sooo small indeed.. so brought them to the counsellor area and left them lo.. went to toilet for a while and after coming out, wanted to go to block A.

on my way out, ah bit came in.. she said there lunch time, so came over to print.. ooo.. good thing i didn't went up the bus yet.. hehe.. so while on the way to the computer lab, i was telling her about the family knowing ying zhao la..

and guess who we met? Ying Zhao.. XD XD *yat kong chou chou, chou chou cau dou* i told him about the aunty and her family and he was like.. who? hahaha.. then print her lab report, then went and hand it up.. after handing it up, went to eat lunch.. cause she needs to collect her diary from a friend.. so can't go watch show yet..

after collecting her diary at 2, we went to bangsar station again, to take the shutter bus to Mid V.. we reached bangsar at around 2.45 - 2.50. so we waited at the bus stop lor.. then suddenly one young man asked us, which shutter bus is going to Mid V. we told him we going there too.. so follow us lor.. and he said ok..

we waited for the freaking bus until 3.20, and still the bus isn't here.. grrr.. got impatient, then we took cab with the young lad.. after reaching Mid V, he paid for us.. XD.. we didn't even came out with a penny for the trip there... Angels do exist huh? it's just RM2.40 owhkay.. he said nevermind.. not i don't 1 to pay.. hehehe

so we reached there and went to the cinema to buy tickets. bit insisted on watching Horton, but the show is at 5.00.. and that time it's 3.30... so looong somemore.. then we nearly settled for shutter, which is at 3.30 la.. but finally we settled for Horton la.. haaha..

so walked around (pet's world, and i bought pakar judo), went to McD for a while and then went in watch the movie lor..

then i ate dinner at oasis and i nearly CRIED

eating that spicy ikan bakar (grilled fish).. i already asked them kurang pedas (not so spicy), but apparently no difference la.. so after that, came back lor..

so many things happened today.. haha

some things to ponder on.. what would happen

if i didn't try to find ah bit at bangsar?
if the aunty didn't come and ask for directions?
if i didn't teman the aunty to main block?
if the guy didn't come and ask for bus to go to Mid V?
if we really did settled on shutter instead of Horton?
if i didn't eat the grilled fish? hahaha

Horton Hears a Who

Well.. caught this movie today.. and it's ok lar.. someone was insisting on watching this movie.. haha.. and Mr. and Mrs. Lam said it was nice.. so gave it a shot la.. (almost didn't got to see this show.. which will be told at a later post)

so the show was at 5, we bought tickets and that time was erm.. 3.30.. went walking around and then went in the cinema when the show is going to start..

had a BIG packet of popcorn in front of us, keep on munching the whole time.. and the cinema is sooo cold.. and the fact that i was wearing short pants and slippers didn't help. XD

so the story tells about an elephant who wants to save the people living in a speck. everyone in the jungle thinks that the elephant is crazy, especially this kangaroo. so the kangaroo plotted to take away the speck from the elephant...

inside the speck, there really are living 'people'.. haha.. and they were the 'whos' so the elephant mission was to put the speck at a very safe place, whereas the kangaroo's mission was to take away the speck from the elephant.

and u have no idea how determined this elephant is.. he crossed the bridge (where does the bridge comes from in the first place?) fought with a ferocious bird, and this is the best part.. the elephant can actually climb a very very very very steep mountain..

i know all of those makes little sense.. but well, it provides some good laughs la.. u are talking about the elephant who can do a dive using a coconut tree here.. swt..

the end is very much predicted la.. just like any fairy tale and animation..

so yeah.. that's about the story.. it's fine.. but not great..

Childhood Song

This is a Malay song which i am positively sure that it is way way way way way way way way way back in my memory..

i don't know y but today, me and eVie suddenly sang this song.. and we were having a little bit of tip of the tongue (ToT) phenomenon trying to recall the lyrics.. hahaha

felt a sense of flashback? yea.. quite nice la the feeling.. hehe

Blood Donation

Today was the first time i donated blood.. whee~

There was a blood donating campaign organized by HELP's ADP department and the news came to me through my friend (Jian). So after class today at 11, we went to Block E to donate blood.. so excited about it..

went there.. look around and then.. there was no sign of blood donation campaign.. look around the fliers (which was on the male's toilet door, it was a bit opened and ah bit just looked at it as if it was a wall.. XD) then only realized that it starts at 12

so we went down and participated in an experiment.. last minute participants.. XD.. the experiment.. to me i think is a tad bit dumb.. the experimenters gave us a set of mathematical questions.. but i don't really understand the term used i suppose

especially 'natural number'. what is 'natural number'? i will go find out later.. maybe they did it on purpose la..i don't know..

so after experiment, went to had lunch, and after lunch, went back again to the blood donation campaign.. and my my.. so many people were there waiting to donate their blood..

so me and ah bit registered, took a form each and fill in our details then wait in line to check whether or not we can donate blood.. after waiting a while, it's my turn..

oh wait wait.. rewind a bit.. apparently quite a number of girls who went to donate blood failed to do so.. some of the reasons were.. they have cold, not enough iron, not enough hemogoblin and females who are having period can't donate blood.. huh.. so sad huh?

ok ok.. so it's my turn, and then the guy took my blood sample, and i asked him what blood type am i.. cause i don't know my blood type (until this very day that is).. he told me i am A.. eheheh.. i passed the test, apparently i don't have any of those stated above.. XD

then went and wait in line and when it's my turn, the nurse poked me with a needle, took it out, poke in another big needle and my blood flowed out to the bag.. i finished quite fast actually and there were my supporters.. 3 girls le.. hahaha

oh.. there is this guy beside me.. whom the nurse told him that his blood isn't flowing properly.. they poke wrong place i suppose.. then the nurse asked him.. "tukar tiub boleh?" (can change another bag of blood? which needs another poking)

ouch.. so painful man for him.. haha.. but then he is used to donating blood la.. so i think it's no big deal for him..

hehe.. the first time donating blood.. a success

Of politics and results

So, the Malaysian's 12th General Election had just ended..

and the results clearly show that the rakyat are very dissatisfied with the 'previous powerful ruling coalition'.. haha

Penang is now under DAP and this new Chief Minister of Penang says that he won't follow the NEP. very brave fella.. applause.. XD

Well, there seems to be dispute among the opposition on who should be Menteri Besar and Deputy menteri besar, but it's expected right? with DAP, PKR and PAS all wants to be the big menteri(s)..

quite a mess.. but interesting to see how it progresses.. if the opposition can really pull this out and do a good job, i think BN is going down in 5 years time.

if in this 5 years, BN can do a good job and prove the opposition wrong, then it would be interesting also to see how things will be in the next general election.. hehehe

with election results over, let's look at some other results..

SPM results are out yesterday whereas STPM results were out the day before. i don't really know about STPM, but i read the papers today which reports that a guy scored 21 A's in his SPM.

erm.. a bit cool but then there is also another news.. apparently the Kuala Lumpur Hospital has set up a hotline for students to vent their frustrations about their results..

when i read that piece of news, i was like "are you kidding me? a hotline for students to vent their frustrations?"

but well, the students need it i suppose, with so much pressure being put on the results. It seems that the effort doesn't count for a thing, as long as the results are promising, any other aspect can be overlooked.

is it still a wonder why students commit suicide when they don't get good results?

Pinky-ness

Today in the morning, while i was waiting for my friend to fetch me, i suddenly thought of pink. And because of mood congruent memory, i remembered what Kah Meng told me

i told him that i am not suitable for wearing pink shirt. he says that next time, he will bring me go shopping and pick a nice pink shirt that will suit me.. and i just told him.. we'll see about that

the only time i wore pink shirt and went around walking (or at least, the only time i remember) was during HMC campaining time... i tell you, sombody by the sirname of Lam got the sudden idea of campaigning in pink and he made all 4 of us wearing pink. -.-;

i don't have any pink shirt.. so how? he brought his shirt for me, so that i can appear in pink.

with the election fever, and sudden pink-ish thoughts, u can't really blame me for remembering this right?? XD

Sick.. Take Time

These few days i have been sick... fever, major fatigue-ness (even as i type this post), cough, a little bit of flu

and this taught me one thing

Take time to rest - it is the panacea of being productive
