Oh today i read the newspaper and there is this article which talks about men straying, their signs of infidelity and why do they stray.. i would just concentrate on why men stray..
There have been many reasons on why men stray.... and more often that not, the fault is placed on the women, for example, does not treat him well enough, cannot bear kids, etc. etc. such poor women, always getting blame when sometimes (or most of the times) it is not their fault..
But now, it seems that scientists have found another reason why men stray... and this reason is backed by scientific evidence, based on biology.. SOOOO COOOOOOLLLL!!!
According to a recent report, a new discovery has linked a man’s philandering to a gene in his DNA. Conducted by Swedish researchers, the study looked at 550 twins and their partners who had been together for five or more years. The men who carried one or two copies of a gene variant called “allele 334” were twice as likely to have had problems with their wives or in making commitments in relationships in the past year than those who do not have it." (Kam, 2008 p.1)
Now, is this finding cool or is this finding cool? But i guess it needs to be elaborated a little bit more. Men with allele 334 are only more PRONE to straying, and it does not mean those with it will DEFINITELY stray... comes back to nature nurture. and men who have allele 334 stray not because they are more lusty, but rather they could not feel a strong bond between him and the partner.
The incidence of allele 334 was statistically linked to how strong a bond a man felt he had with his partner,” lead researcher Hasse Walum said. (Walum, cited in Kam, 2008)
Hmm.. interesting findings no? hahahaha.. i can sense that all the females are cringing looking at this post.. but oh well, it's just a finding.. i still believe that nurture plays a big role... but if u want to be on the safe side and really belief in this, take your men to do DNA test. XD
In the end, with or without this finding, men (and women) would stray simply because they can
God Bless
