Of beach volleyball and... beach volleyball
February 23rd, 2008
today's the day... Malaysia's Open Beach Volleyball competition. Held at Sunway Lagoon. Didn't get a good night sleep.. cause it was hot and the mosquitos kept biting me.. grrr~
woke up at 7.00 morning, then bath and ate breakfast while waiting for my friend to come and fetch me. Then after fething me, went to fetch another 2 friends and we start our journey to Sunway Lagoon.
Reached there at around 8.30 or 8.40 (was suppose to reach at 9.00) , so we were quite early.. We were asked to meet at Sunway Lagoon's entrance, but then, it shifted to Sunway Surf Beach entrance..
walked there, paid RM 100 per team, got our wristband and went inside.. played for a while and then was told that one of the teams in our group didn't came.. so instead of playing 3 games, we only played 2 games..
Both of the 2 games we lost terribly.. XD XD.. so not used to playing beach volleyball.. nevermind .. next year go try again.. ngek ngek ngek..
besides playing in the competition, we went to play in the water theme park and at the end, me and Shawn went to play the outdoor theme part.. specifically tomahawk and the 'big ship' (don't know what is that called.. ehehe..
it was fun, cause i never tried both of those two things.. it was really exciting... jumped, run and walked so much that my leg is sooooooooooo tired now.. my arm is also hurting.. and a little bit of sunburn.. noooo..
it's been a loooong time since i have this kind of 'tired-ness'.. quite fun.. ngek ngek..
next year try again.. OOOOOHHHH!!!!

A perspective on Love
Situation: An arranged marriage is going to be done. The husband-to-be was reluctant to marry because he didn't love the wife-to-be.. However, as time passes, he gave in to his parent's wishes..
The wife-to-be was eager to marry because she was in love with him... but as time passes, she realizes that he doesn't love her.. on the day of marriage, she decided to not get married.
That, was illustrated in one of the episodes of a show.. and what the wife-to-be said to her so called parents' in law made a whole lot of sense
this is what was said by the daughter in law and her father in law (it is a chinese show, so i am translating the dialogue.. hopefully the meaning won't run too much la.. XD)
Father: Why do you want to leave? Doesn't my son treat you well?
Daughter: Yes.. he treats me well... but the kind of well he treats me is different from how a husband should treat a wife.
Father: Haihz.. Don't worry about it, as long as you get married today, everything will be fine.. Love can be sowed with time..
(this is the important part)
Daughter: When you are preparing medicine, yes, you need time for the medicine to boil to be fully effective.. but boiling for a longer period than is suppose to be does not mean the medicine is going to be more effective
I have lived with him for so long.. and yet he doesn't have feelings for me.. even if i were to marry him today, a longer period of time won't change anything.

When preparing a medicine, what you need to put in are the essential items.. for example (this is a fake example and not in the show.. in the show the example given is a traditional medicine which i don't know how to say) if for a cough medicine... you would need A and B (variables here because i don't know what is needed.. )
although by adding C, the medicine might work better, it is still only a supplement.. In this case, i am the C, and what he needs is not me, rather A and B which is the girl he loves.
Finally the father in law understood...
What she says.. sums up beautifully on how to look at relationships. A way out of the many ways..
However, what if things were not so easy? What if things are not so simple? If for example the guy likes both the girls and is undecided who he loves most.. what will happen?
In this case, the essential elements can't be pinned down because basically he don't know who is his 'essential element'. A and B could be substituted by C and the effect is still the same.. So how?
Ideas anyone?

Dreams, dreams and dreams
I guess today i broke my own record of dreaming the most time in a single day.. well.. haven't even reach a single day to be exact.. ahhaha
and it's not day dreaming k.. it's a real sleep dream..
this morning alone, i have 3 dreams, after each time i woke up and then went back to sleep...
The first dream, i only remembered that i and a few other people were trying our best to finish the yam.. for what purpose i don't know... but there we were, eating relentlessly at the yams.. :p
second dream, i can only remember that my beard and moustache grew really really long and it's unkept.. look a bit like a pirate.. yeah.. that's all i remembered for my second dream..
i remembered a lot of my third dream.. recency effect i suppose.. ho ho ho.. erm.. it started with i was studying in a place which i do not know..
then after it ended, i went out to take a bus and i saw my friend.. said 'hi' to her, but then she didn't really replied and continued sleeping in the bus (it was in the morning). then i went in front and sat down, took out my notes to study, and then went down the bus at somewhere..
went down already, walked around to find my way out of that place.. and i saw a lot of food stalls.. but i didn't eat any.. walked for quite some time and still couldn't find my way out..
then i thought of going back to the place where i initially came down from the bus.. walk walk.. got lost and i ran, going through a very strange stairs and finally came to a different scenario..
after coming out from the stairs, i was like coming out from a house, (and i think it's my house), but in the dream, it's a kindergarten.. so went out and asked someone, where can i take a bus?
he said can take any bus anywhere and i was like 'oookkk' so walked to the bus stop, but along the way, i passed my primary school.. and saw that the field was not covered with grass anymore.. the reason being.. there are these animals which looks like bulls which were pulling the grasses out..
the animals looked a bit rough and cute at the same time and they can swim in the water.. cool isn't it?? if anyone watches Avatar the Airbender, it kinda like the pet, minus the big tail i think..
so walked past the school and a bus came, i went into the bus and the bus left.. then the driver said that he wanted to go to the loo.. and the person beside the driver started to take hold and control the bus stering..
and the bus was reversing instead of going forward, so i was like... no no.. left left abit... break break.. and all the stering holder said is that
SWT!!! then it continued la.. turning left and right to avoid the cars.. and the situation got rough cause the cars are starting to bang each other and the bus also picks up speed.. and then finally comes to a halt.
then the passenger which sat behind me went down the bus and started to scold towards the bus saying thigns like "crazy bus, i never sat in such a horrible bus.." something like that la..
me and the person who sat beside me only laughed like crazy, glad that we were safe and because it's an exciting experience?
i was laughing so hard that i was already half awake..
That was the end of the third dream.. then after coming back from volleyball this morning, i slept again at 1 o' clock afternoon
in a short span of 1 hour 15 minutes, i had another dream..
all my 4 dreams were REM dreams.. cause they are colourful.. REM rebound? a lot of hidden desires la.. XD
Had a load of fun dreaming, but it is not so normal huh?? hehehe

Pain
It's been quite some time since i last blogged.. well.. nothing much to blog mer.. today got something to blog.. mainly about pain.. hehe..
well.. how do we feel pain? of course.. we feel physical pain when our pain receptor is triggered and then the signal is sent to the brain..
how about emotional pain then? or psychological pain? how do we feel them and why?
research has consistently show that emotional pain is as bad as physical inflicted pain if not worse.. the same area of the brain is activated during emotional pain such as social exclusion..
besides that, we have a 'mirror neuron' (i think) which when we see someone being tortured, we also will feel the same pain because we can put ourselves in the shoe in the other person..
out of these 3 options, which do you think would inflict the most pain on you?
1) being physically tortured
2) seeing someone you don't know being tortured
3) seeing someone you love being tortured
to me, i think option 3 would inflict the most pain on me.. it is sometimes more painful for you to see someone you love being tortured than to endure the torture yourself.. right?
and when i see the people around me having bad days, arguing with their parents, lovers, the social ills around me, i am sadden by it.. talk about mirror neurons man..
but today when i was watching a chinese drama.. one of the characters said this
and that is the truth. we don't have the time, the resources and the energy to help everyone
WELCOME TO REALITY... so what can we do??
well... i think i can just pray for them and lift them up to God to help them.. man can't do everything cause if they can, they are God..
